He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia "Ginger" Benassi (MacKenzie); his parents, Eligio Benassi and Alice Benassi (Anderson); and his son Kevin Joseph Benassi. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Scavone (Joseph) of West Yarmouth, Andrew Benassi (Deborah) of South Yarmouth, Russell Benassi (Megin) of Plympton, Matthew Benassi (Maatje) of Lompoc, California, Katharine Botzos (Michael) of Duxbury and Alison Floeck of East Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Andrea, Samantha, Rachael, Dominic, Joseph, Nicholas, Anika, Josef, Mathias and Koen; his great grandchildren, Amelia, William and Thiago; and his sister Judith Heppleston of Carver.
Memorial donations in Howard's name may be made to the Kevin Benassi Memorial Scholarship at Wentworth Institute of Technology.
