She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Julie Cahill of Kingston, Jennifer Stefani (Kris) of Plymouth, Andrew (Alane) of Weston and Timothy (Caroline) of Wellesley; her grandchildren, Molly (Stephen Saville), Nora Cahill, Lucy, Chloe Stefani, Niall, Angus Cahalane, Ella, Teddy, Brennan and Colin Cahalane; her parents, Joseph Connors and Eileen Connors (Crowley); and her sisters, Suzanne Billingham of Plymouth and Nancy Mulligan of Duxbury.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's memory to Dr. Douglas Rubinson's research fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute or to the Jimmy Fund to support the research that is transformative for cancer patients and their families.
