Robert Johnston Obituary
Robert M. Johnston, Jr. of Lakeville, formerly of Avon, passed away October 22, 2023, at the age of 61. Beloved husband of Birgitt (Eilbracht) Johnston. Loving father of Robert and Nicholas. Devoted son of Robert and Ruth (Monohan) Johnston. Cherished brother of Stephen Johnston and his wife Patty, Kenneth Johnston, and Francis Johnston. Also survived by his nephews, Stephen, Tyler, and Peter; his nieces, Morgan, and Jordan; his uncle, Paul and his wife Suzanne; and his cousins, Paul and his wife Christine, Mary, and Brian.
Bobby graduated from Blue Hills in 1980 where he was a member of the hockey team for all four years. He continued to play hockey for decades in various leagues and also coached his son, Robert. Bobby worked at GTE/GD, and most recently Teladyne for 5 years before his passing. He was a planner/buyer, loved by all his coworkers. Bobby loved riding his motorcycle and being in the mountains and in the woods.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rt. 28), Randolph on Wednesday, November 1st from 4-7pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. A graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mansfield on Thursday, November 2nd at 11am.
