He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Thornhill and Louise Thornhill (Ferguson); and his brother Roger Thornhill. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Thornhill (Silva); his sons, Gene Thornhill, Jr. (Linda), Michael Thornhill (Sara) of Methuen, MA, Steven Thornhill (Walter Fortier) and David Thornhill; his brother Dean Thornhill (Mona) of North Andover, MA.; his grandchildren, Meghan Michalak, Alex Thornhill, Brian Thornhill, Monika Pimentel, Niya Thornhill, Sydney Thornhill and Emelie Thornhill; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Michalak, Jackson Michalak and Elena Pimentel.

Memorial donations may be made in Gene's name to Holy Rosary Shrine, 28 Union Street, Lawrence, MA 01841.
