He was predeceased by: his wife Julia A. Fitzgerald (Harrington); and his siblings, Madeline Redmond, John Donohue and Catherine Ahearn. He is survived by: his children, William J. Fitzgerald, Jr. (Mary) of Plymouth, Julie A. Fitzgerald of Marblehead and Thomas P. Fitzgerald of Lexington; and his grandchildren, William J. Fitzgerald III (Alissa) of Brunswick, GA and Kathleen M. Fitzgerald of South Boston.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Douglass Funeral Home (51 Worthen Rd, Lexington, MA 02421). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Raphael Church (512 High St, Medford, MA 02155).
