It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel J. McLaughlin of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on November 9, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel McLaughlin and Mary McLaughlin (Garvey). He is survived by: his wife Genevieve McLaughlin (Masterson); his children, Mary Waddington (Thomas), Daniel McLaughlin (Barbara), Karen Edmonds and Kathleen Ringler (Jason); his grandchildren, Drew Waddington (Annie), John Waddington, Daniel R. McLaughlin (Maria), Michael McLaughlin, James McLaughlin, Travis Edmonds, Madison Edmonds, Ethan Ringler and Natalie Ringler; and his sister Mary Jo Salvon (late Joseph Salvon).
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral & Cremation (220 N Main St, East Longmeadow, MA 01028). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Parish (519 Longmeadow St, Longmeadow, MA 01106).
In lieu of flowers, Daniel's family is requesting donations to the Sisters of Saint Joseph, 577 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
