In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact George had on those he encountered along his journey. Though George may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph E. MacShane and Margeret MacShane (Archibald); his wife Janet R. MacShane (Dufault); and his grandson Michael Plourde. He is survived by: his close friend Barbara Hannafin; his children, Gregory MacShane (Julie) of Pelham, NH and Tammy Plourde (Jeffrey) of Somersworth, NH; his brother Joseph E. MacShane, Jr. (Helen) of Chelmsford; and his siblings-in-law, Leonard and Helen Dufault of Pelham, NH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dracut Funeral Home (2159 Lakeview Ave, Dracut, MA 01826).
