She was predeceased by: her husband William R. "Bill" Palermo; her parents, John Vieira and Mary Vieira (Avila); her son Mark Palermo; her grandson Kevin Kirsch; her brother John "Sonny" Vieira (Elaine); and her close friend Jack Perry.
She is survived by: her children, William Palermo (Lynne Davis) of Lowell, JoAnne Downing (James) of Lowell and MaryJo Palermo-Kirsch (James Kirsch) of Pelham, NH; her grandchildren, Nicole Palermo, James Downing, Sinead Downing (Marc Mitchell), Mark Palermo, Matthew Palermo, Courtney Kirsch (Matthew Westreich) and Katie Kirsch; her great grandchildren, Finn and Mollie Mitchell; her brother Bruce Vieira (Lorelei); and her friend Nancy Beane of Lowell. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonough Funeral Home (14 Highland St, Lowell, MA 01852). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Margaret of Scotland Parish (375 Stevens St, Lowell, MA 01851).
