He was predeceased by: his parents, James Douglass of East Boston and Gertrude Douglass (Moran) of Somerville; his wife Ann T. Douglass (Bradley); his stepson William Dorris; and his siblings, James Douglass and Joan McGlinchey.
He is survived by: his children, James Dorris (Susan) of Inglis, FL, Robert Dorris (Marsha) of North Chelmsford, Joseph Dorris (Suzanne) of San Antonio, FL, Lisa Pilato (George) and Heather Kelleher (Peter) of Lowell; his grandchildren, James Dorris, Michael Pilato (Amanda), George Pilato, Toni Marie Nimeskern (Johnny), Joseph Dorris Jr., Emily Dorris and Robbie Dorris; his granddaughter-in-law Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Justyna Dorris and Jake Vieira; his great grandchildren, Braeden, Riley, Jaxson and Georgie; and his brother Paul Douglass (Edith) of Dracut. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McDonough Funeral Home (14 Highland St, Lowell, MA 01852). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Margaret of Scotland Church (374 Stevens St, Lowell, MA 01851).
