He was predeceased by: his parents, Francisco Lopes and Guilhermina Lopes (Valencio); his sons, Alexandre, Marco Lopes and Daniel Lopes; and his sisters, Manuela Lopes and Fatima Lopes.
He is survived by: his son Samuel Lopes (Fernanda Lopes) of Lowell; his siblings, Conceicao Armas of Flores, Julio Lopes of Lowell, Francisco Lopes of Lowell, Lucia Borges of Flores, Fernando Lopes of Flores, Maria Jose Colon of Lowell, Telma Lopes of Lowell, Maria Lourdes Lopes of Lowell, Sandra Lopes of Flores and Liberio Lopes of New Bedford; his goddaughter Filomena Lopes of Lowell; and his friends, Waldete Parreiras of Lowell and Fernanda Santos of Boston. He is also survived by seven nieces and ten nephews, eight grand nieces and eight grand nephews.
