It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josefina R. Ferreira of Lowell, Massachusetts, who passed away on May 24, 2026, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Joao Carlos Ferreira; and her parents, Antonio Pombo and Joaquina Pombo (Rodrigues). She is survived by: her daughters, Filomena Simão of Lowell and Dulce Ferreira of Lowell; her granddaughter Avlynn Calheta (Ivan) of Lowell; her great grandchildren, Amaya and Izaiah; her brothers, Manuel Pombo and Izaias Pombo; and her son-in-law Joseph Simão. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
