He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Simão and Avelina Simão (Lima); his siblings, Manuel Fernando Simão, Odete DeSousa and Antonio Simão; his siblings-in-law, Helena Simão (DaSilva), Jose Quadros and John DeSousa; his father-in-law João Ferreira; and his godson Nelson Simão.
He is survived by: his sons, Hideaway, IV and Europa Café; his wife Filomena Simão (Ferreira) of Lowell; his children, Karen Simão of Boston, Joseph Simão Jr. of Townsend and Avlynn Calheta (Ivan) of Lowell; his grandchildren, Alexandria Ferguson, Joseph Simão III, Amaya Calheta and Izaiah Calheta; his siblings, Maria Ivone Quadros of Peabody, Apolinario "Paul" Simão (Evarista) of Lowell and Helena Martiniano (Rogerio) of Port St; his sisters-in-law, Celia Simão of Dracut, Gabriella Simão of East Providence, RI and Dulce Ferreira of Lowell; his mother-in-law Josefina Ferreira of Lowell; his godsons, Tony Simão of Jacksonville, FL and Kevin Martiniano of Port St; and his caregiver Danielle Murphy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
