He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Looney and Pauline Looney (Melanson); and his siblings, Joseph, Edward, Gerald Looney and Arlene Looney Bourque.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Looney (Staniewicz) of Lowell; his children, Richard T. Looney, Jr. (Heidi) of Lowell, Robert T. Looney of North Andover, MA, Daniel M. Looney (Tiffani) of Merrimack, NH and Katherine M. Derov (Nathan) of Lowell; and his sister Pauline Farmer of Dracut. He is also survived by grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
