He was predeceased by: his wife Noreen Mellen (Campbell); his parents, John Mellen and Dorothy Mellen (Calnan); his brother Jack Mellen; and his cousin Charlie Mellen.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert B. Mellen Jr. of Lowell and Joseph William "Bill" Mellen of Lowell; his nieces and nephews, Judy McVey of Haverhill, Jayme Schrienemachers (Matt) of Maine, James Campbell Jr. of Maine and Martha Flynn (Mike) of Florida; his cousin Laurie Kelber (Joe) of Methuen; and his friends, David DeMattia, Chris Paquette, Elaine Pantano, Brandon Gaybrick, Terry Gauthier and Bobby Mather.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the McDonough Funeral Home (14 Highland St, Lowell, MA 01852). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Michael's Parish. A burial will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at the Saint Patrick Cemetery (1251 Gorham St, Lowell, MA 01852).
