He was predeceased by: his parents, Octavio Colon and Castula Colon (Cruz); and his stepdaughter Alice Joubert. He is survived by: his children, Carmen Colon of Hudson, NH, Victor Malaret of Lowell and Niome Griffithkrauskopf of Tacoma, Washington; and his stepchildren, Oswaldo Robert Joubert of Lowell and Julie Joubert of Lowell. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
