We are sad to announce that, on January 17, 2026, at the age of 85, Ingrid Elli (Lange) Vermette (Ludlow, Massachusetts) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Ingrid farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Ingrid is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Fritz Lange and Agnes Lange (Ebrecht) of Germany; her sister Gisela Bannenberg (Lange); and her grandmother Omi. She is survived by: her sons, Peter Hirdes of Germany and David Vermette (Jacqueline) of Ludlow, Massachusetts; her grandchildren, Braeden Vermette and Avery Vermette of Ludlow, Massachusetts; and her sisters, Lieselotte Sallach (Lange) and Antonia Batz (Lange) of Germany. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
