It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Joseph Simard of Ludlow, Massachusetts, born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 14, 2023, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Armand J. Simard and Agnes Simard (Fredette); his son-in-law Roy P. Kurtz; and his siblings, Normand Simard (Helen) and Anita Gauthier (Julian).
He is survived by: his wife Doris C. Simard (Deroy); his children, Diane A. Kurtz of Ludlow, Robert J. Simard (Jeanne) of Ludlow and Donald N. Simard (Janice) of Severn, MD; his grandchildren, Cheryl Schipper (Derek) of Hanover, MA, Shawn Kurtz (Cristina) of Cresco, PA, James Kurtz (Amy) of Ludlow, Timothy Simard (Christine) of Ludlow, Nicole Mendes (Brian) of Chicopee, Jason Simard (Shelly) of Pasadena, MD and Derek Simard of Glen Burnie, MD; and his daughter Hope Church. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren; his cherished great great grandson; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends.
