Jana M. Drislane Obituary

Jana M. (Marsello) Drislane passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at home after battling cancer for a brief period of time surrounded by loved ones. Jana was the wife of Richard Drislane with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Janice (Murphy) Marsello. Born and raised in Lynn, she graduated from Lynn English High School, Class of 1968. Jana had retired from the Department of Mental Health where she worked as an office manager.
Jana was a very special person and was loved dearly by those who knew her. She and Richie enjoyed many cruises together over the years. Jana loved spending past time at the beach, enjoying a game of bingo and spending summer vacations with her granddaughter in the White Mountains. She had a distinct bond with her children Kate and Mark, once volunteering to manage a senior league baseball team so Mark and the kids would be able to play that summer. She shared a special bond with her niece Angela and nephew Jake Marsello whom naturally gravitated towards her as children being known as the "cool aunt" and often had many sleepovers with their auntie Jana. Jana also shared a unique bond with her great nephew, Joseph, who loved being with her every chance he got.
She is survived by her daughter Kate Buchanan, Leroy Brown and granddaughter Jordan Brown, her son Mark Buchanan and his fiancé Krissy Ballentine; her brother John and his wife Mal Marsello; her nephew Jake and his wife Amanda Marsello; her Goddaughter and great niece Kaylee Marsello and great nephew Kyle Marsello; her niece Angela Marsello and great nephew Joseph Marsello; and her niece Tara Lohman and her children Rosaleah, Elexis and Lukas. She was predeceased by her brother Joey Marsello.
Adhering to the guidelines of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the CDC, Funeral Services will be limited to 40 family members and friends and held on Wednesday, June 24 at 7p.m. in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 5-7p.m. Arrangements entrusted to SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOMES, LYNN.
