She was predeceased by: her husband Arthur H. McGovern Jr.; her parent Irish; her daughter Patricia Mullen; and her sisters, Evelyn Weber, Dorothy Madigan, Frances "Nancy" Farrell, Joan Poehler, Eileen Keating, Mary Johnson and Sharon Fleury.
She is survived by: her brother Laurence J. Farrell of Lynn; her sons, Michael McGovern (Julie DeSilva) of Swampscott, James McGovern (Dianne) of Marblehead and Stephen McGovern of Arlington, VA.; her grandchildren, Patrick, Sean, Shannon McGovern of Swampscott, Leonard Mullen III of East Boston and Paul Mullen of Danville, NH; and her son-in-law Leonard Mullen II of Danville, NH.. She is also survived by her family and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Solimine Funeral Home - Ocean St (67 Ocean St, Lynn, MA 01902). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Church (174 Humphrey St, Swampscott, MA 01907).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
