He is survived by: his wife Edna Donovan (Gist); his children, Maureen Donovan (Tom Marasco), John F. Donovan, Jr., Eileen Van Wambeke (Jim) and Kevin Donovan; his grandchildren, Gregory Deratany (Alex), Valeri Dauter (Mark), Jason Donovan (Laurie), Bryan VanWambeke, Sean VanWambeke, Robert Rickman (Chelsea), KaeLee Rickman and Lilly-Ann Dann (Aaron Benitez); his great grandchildren, Sydney Tennant (William, Sr.), Lennox Spears (Matthew), Rourke Dauter, Tate Beach (Logan), Eliza VanWambeke of Holden VanWambeke, A. J, Benitez, Claire Noack, Willow Wilbur, EverLeigh Rickman and Arlo Rickman; his great great grandchildren, William Tennant, Jr. and Rivan Spears; his nieces and nephews, Sheila Cronin (Albert), Mark Richmond, Helena Mantel (Ron), Michael Rettich and Kristopher Rettich; his friends, Doris Wells, Robert Halbick and Nancy Moore; his former wife Elizabeth Donovan; his siblings, James Donovan and Phyllis Richmond (Hal); and his great great grandchild Liam Wilbur.
Visitation was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home (157 Maple St, Lynn, MA 01904). A funeral service was held on Monday, June 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
