He was predeceased by: his parents, Christos Hantzis and Angeliki Hantzis (Papaliberis); his daughter Angeliki Hantzis; and his siblings, Gianoula Nikoloulias, Ilias Hantzis, Panagiota Vromovrisiotis, Demosthenas Hantzis, Nikos Hantzis and Astrino Hantzis.

He is survived by: his wife Erietta Hantzis (Perivoliotis); his children, Christos Hantzis and Konstantina Georgeles; his grandchildren, Margo Georgeles, George Georgeles, Paul Russell, Christina Russell and Konstantina Hantzis; and his siblings, Kostas Hantzis and Vasiliki Perivoliotis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church (54 S Common St, Lynn, MA 01902). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
