He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Brown (Trahant); his parents, Emma Brown (Hanson) and John Johnston Brown; his granddaughter Jennifer Brown; and his brother Gordon Brown.

He is survived by: his children, Wayne Brown, Nora Costa of Dedham, Sharon Madore (Stephen) of Peabody and Tracey Cerrone (Paul) of Lynn; his grandchildren, Kate Wing (Stephen) and Bradford Cerrone; his great grandchildren, Sean Brown and Damien Wing; his siblings-in-law, William Trahant, Leo, Carole Trahant and Janet Connor; and his cousin Betty Ippolito. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews.
