He was predeceased by: his parents, James Murphy and Joan Murphy (Hanifan); and his brothers, Robert D. Murphy and James "Larry" Murphy. He is survived by: his children, Catherine "Jamie" Chandler (Geoffrey) of Taunton and Michael Murphy (Sammy) of Florida; his sister Carol Flanagan (Mike) of Malden; and his grandchild Milani Chandler. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
