He was predeceased by: his son Mark "Choppa" Chopelas. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Thomas (Linda), Robert (Laura) and Laura; his grandsons, Derek Lessard, Steven Chopelas and Mark Chopelas; and his great grandchildren, Natalie, Noah and Leah Lessard.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Malden Moose.
