Though Verna may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her husband Hubert E. "Eddie" Buote; her parents, Joseph V. Cummings and Verna Rose Cummings (Malloch); and her sisters, Mary E. Miller (late John Miller), Josephine Helmboldt (late Albert Helmboldt), Rita Tully and Margaret R. Ross (late William Ross).
She is survived by: her daughter Verna Rose McLaughlin (late Thomas J. McLaughlin) of Mansfield. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home (55 N Main St, Mansfield, MA 02048). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saint Mary's Church (330 Pratt St, Mansfield, MA 02048).
