He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Early Gately and John Sullivan Gately; and his siblings, John Early Gately (Jack) and Sarah Gately Burland (Sally). He is survived by: his wife Mary Cook Gately; his children, Elizabeth Sanmarco (Mark) of Duxbury, MA, Alison Frost (Thomas) of San Marcos, CA and Andrew Gately (Janny) of Washington, DC; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Thomas Jr. and Luke Frost; and his children, Noelle, Bridget Sanmarco, Alexis and Bruce Gately.
