He was predeceased by: his parents, Genevieve Ranta (Mogavero) and John Edward Ranta; his brother James Ranta; and his grandchild Charlie Nolan Ranta. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Hemenway Ranta; his children, Ned Ranta, Keith Ranta and Allison Church (Mike) of Marblehead; his sister Elaine D'Alessandro; and his grandchildren, Lilly, Brady, Lucy, Annie Church and Sofia Ranta.
