With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leo J. Fitzgerald of Marblehead, Massachusetts, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Leo left this world on October 12, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy J. Fitzgerald; his parents, Leo and Katherine; and his son Sean Fitzgerald. He is survived by: his children, Jeanne, Brian Clawson of Ipswich, Nancy Fitzgerald Doherty of Beverly, Susan Fitzgerald of Marblehead and John Fitzgerald of Danvers; his grandchildren, Erin, Sean, Connor and Kara Doherty; his pet Peanuts; and his close friends, James Doherty, Ray Gauthier, Honin Kolosky (Richard) and Al Mullin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the C. R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors (28 Elm St, Danvers, MA 01923). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church (24 Conant St, Danvers, MA 01923). A committal service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (175 Broadway, Malden, MA 02148).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Leo's memory may be made to Operation Troop Support, 16 Trinity St., Danvers, MA 01923. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Leo J. Fitzgerald 's name.
