She was predeceased by: her husband Francis W. Swain, Jr. of Marblehead; and her close friend Gordon L. Brown of North Conway, NH.. She is survived by: her children, Amanda Sylvester (Martin Sylvester) of Salem and Gary Swain (Sheelagh Nelis Swain) of Marblehead; her grandson Nicolas Peabody (Brandy Bruyere); her great grandchild Nolan of Silver Spring, MD; and her granddaughter Halsey Swain of Portland, OR..

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marblehead Dollars for Scholars, for the Sylvia and Francis Swain, Jr. Memorial Scholarship at PO Box 4, Marblehead, MA 01945.
