He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Ralph C. Nelson and Faye M. Nelson; his wife Ellen Farrell Nelson; and his son Todd Nelson. He is survived by: his sons, Erik Nelson (Kim) of Marshfield and Scott Nelson of Scituate; and his grandchildren, Teddie, Katherine of Marshfield, Jacob, Aaron of Scituate and Kyle Thompson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the MacDonald Funeral Home (1755 Ocean St, Marshfield, MA 02050). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
