We announce the death of Dorothy M. McGee-Barton of Mattapan, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 82. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Owen McGee and Annie Mae Whitley-McGee. She is survived by: her significant other Andrew E. Barton; her significant other's children, Gwendolyn, Norma, Gaynelle and Della; her friend Minnie Mae; and her daughters, Gwendolyn McGee-Brown, Norma McGee, Gaynelle McGee and Della McGee. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family members, loved ones, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Davis Funeral Home - Mattapan (654 Cummins Hwy, Mattapan, MA 02126). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery (427 Cummins Hwy, Boston, MA 02131).
