With sadness, we share the passing of Miriam F. Young of Mattapan, Massachusetts. Miriam, born on June 4, 1937, passed away on September 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mathew Galloway and Marie Galloway (Young); and her husband Mathew Young. She is survived by: her sisters, Alice Butler (Galloway) and Ruth Dixon (Galloway); her niece Barbara James; her son Alton Young; her sister-in-law Vera Wright; and her nieces and nephews, Denise, Theresa Dixon, Nancy, Yolanda, Phyllis, Alicia Galloway, Lena Reddick (Galloway), Claire Jones (Galloway), Michelle Gomez-Parker, Ipyana Wasret, Anthony Galloway and Allyn Jamal Wright. She is also survived by other relatives, and special friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Davis Funeral Home - Mattapan (654 Cummins Hwy, Mattapan, MA 02126). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Oak Lawn Cemetery (427 Cummins Hwy, Boston, MA 02131).
