It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Thompson of Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 26, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the sacred silence of farewell, Elaine is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parent Carver; her husband Arthur C. Thompson; and her brother Richard Battles. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia E. Thompson of East Preston, England, Robert W. Thompson, Jr. of Mattapoisett and Mark A. Thompson (Jennifer Thompson) of Rochester; and her grandchildren, Kurt A. Thompson of Rochester, Jake R. Thompson of Rochester, Corinna Grota of Rochester and Jessica Thompson of Assonet. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
