Brita I. Kurkaa Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Brita I. Kurkaa of Maynard, Massachusetts, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 26, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Brita farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Brita is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Keijo Kurkaa; and her parents, Tor Vidar Forsstrom and Greta I. Sandstrom (Westerlund). She is survived by: her daughters, Minna E. Kurkaa Riggi (Cyril Riggi) of Rognes, France and Tania M. Kurkaa of Maynard, MA; her siblings, Goran Forsstrom of Sweden and Rita Sandstrom of Finland; and her grandchildren, Anton Riggi, Elias Riggi, Emmett Kurkaa Walker and Annika Kurkaa Walker.
