With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Giuseppe Zappala (Medford, Massachusetts), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 4, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfio Zappala and Francesca Zappala (Bonanno); and his siblings, Mariano Zappala of Italy, Venere Cortese of Italy, Grazia Teti of Italy, Pasquale Zappala of Italy and Antonietta Zappala of Italy.
He is survived by: his wife Giuseppina Zappala (Cosco); his children, Alfio Zappala (Rina), Anthony Zappala and Francesco Zappala (Ana); his grandchildren, Joseph (Lindsay), Lisa, Anthony (Marina), Chris, Nicholas (Samantha), Cristina (Jonathan Vivace), Marco (Maryssa) and Vanessa; his great grandchildren, Noah, Jake, Leo, Dante and Aria; and his sister Antonietta Tangredi of Rome. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home (306 Main St, Medford, MA 02155). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (600 Pleasant St, Malden, MA 02148).
