She was predeceased by : her parents, Luther Edgett and Mary Edgett (Bonner); her husband John F. "Jack" Tirrell, Jr.; her children, Pamela and Sean Patrick; and her grandson Eric Lawrence.

She is survived by : her children, Kathleen Tirrell (Kevin Joeckel) of Portsmouth, Elizabeth Conflitti (Robert) and John Tirrell (Kristen) of Gainesville, Virginia.; her pet Brandy; and her caregiver Marjorie Deacon. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boston Children's Hospital Trust, specifying the Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat Department.
