He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Scharaffa and Elvira Scharaffa (Volpe); his wife Mary Lee Scharaffa (Josserand); and his sisters, Dolores DeCaro (Scharaffa) and Roseann Farrell (Scharaffa).
He is survived by: his children, Marc Scharaffa (Donna) of Wakefield, Marie Scharaffa, Andrew Rutkowsky of Melrose and Lia Scharaffa (Mathew Pelrine) of Middleton; and his grandchildren, MaKayla, Giuliana, Julian and Violet.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gately Funeral Home (79 W Foster St, Melrose, MA 02176). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Church (71 Central St, Stoneham, MA 02180).
