It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irene Murphy of Melrose, Massachusetts, who passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Sylvester and Mary (Schifino); and her husband Robert E. Murphy. She is survived by: her children, Robert J. Murphy (Jane) of Melrose, Cpt. Michael J. Murphy (Debra) of Middleton, David J. Cable-Murphy (Gillian) of Scituate, John J. Murphy (Janel) of Groveland and Janet M. Murphy (Gary Hickey) of Lexington; her son-in-law Wesley R. Krol of Andover; her granddaughter Sarah Murphy (Adrian Haimovich); her great grandchildren, Robert E. Murphy and Michael J. Murphy (Tricia); Alexyss Femino (Christopher), Kate S. Cable-Murphy, Cole P. Murphy, Hester K. Murphy, Owen W. Krol (Emily) and Olivia A. Krol (Christopher McKenna).
