We bid farewell to Sara Mitchell in Melrose, Massachusetts, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 30, 2025 at the age of 80. Sara touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As Sara departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Sara may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Sara leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Edgren and Verna Rank Edgren. She is survived by: her husband Kent Mitchell; her children, Eliot Mitchell (Jane Sandor) of Altadena, CA and Katherine Mitchell (Daniel DiRico) of Melrose, MA; and her grandchildren, Brooks, Thea Mitchell, Madeleine and Aidan DiRico.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the West Parish (210 Lowell St, Andover, MA 01810).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Native Plant Trust.
