She was predeceased by: her husband William R. Carter Jr.; and her brother Richard Hersey. She is survived by: her children, William "Rusty" Carter (Caroline Carter) of Warwick, RI, Cynthia P. Carter of Punta Gorda, FL, Linda H. Scanlan (William F. Scanlan) of Harrisville, NH and Bryan W. Carter (Elizabeth M. Carter) of Byfield, MA.; her grandchildren, Jennifer Chevrefils, Lisa Bonina, Stephen Tettke, Heather Adamski, Sarah Anderson, Andrew Scanlan, Daniel Scanlan, Rylie Carter and Timothy Carter; her siblings, Karen Hersey of Nelson, NH and David Hersey; and her extended family Stephen Carter (Joan Carter) of Destin, FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
