It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Elizabeth Leighton of Mendon, Massachusetts, born in Milton, Massachusetts, who passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Edmund F. Leighton, Sr.; her parents, Alton Chandler Allen and Dorothy Wadsworth Bradford (Allen); her stepfather George E. Bradford; her sister Virginia E. Bailey (Allen); her granddaughter Elizabeth Audrey Smith (Moyer); and her great-grandparents, John W., Sylvia Alden and Alden House.
She is survived by: her children, Edmund F. Leighton, Jr. of Mendon, MA and Barbara Alden Moyer (Leighton); her son-in-law Charles Walter Moyer of Auburn, MA; her granddaughter Jennifer M. Napolitano (Leighton); her grandson-in-law Daniel R. Napolitano of West Wareham, MA; her grandson Matthew Leighton Moyer of Auburn, MA; her grandson-in-law Joseph James Smith, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Joseph James Smith, III and Audrey Elizabeth Smith of Southbridge, MA.. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
