He was predeceased by: his parents, Jean Mittler and Jack Mittler; his former wife Evelyn Mittler (Blohm); and his sisters, Lorraine Suckle and Iris Haber.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia L. Burns-Mittler; his son Kevin Mittler; his daughter-in-law Robin Mittler (Strout); his sister Freda DeFosse; and his siblings-in-law, Edith Erdman (John) and Howard Blohm (Anne). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
