He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy McCarthy (Carr); his parents, Thomas McCarthy and H. Ruth McCarthy; and his siblings, Nancy Ashwood, Ruth Bradley and Thomas McCarthy.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Brown (Michael) of Dracut, Brian McCarthy of Bradenton, FL, Barry McCarthy (Nancy) of Lowell, Caroline McCarthy of Methuen, Stephen McCarthy (Tara) of Milton and Mary McCarthy of Richmond, VA.; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jared), Christopher, Lauren (Bradley), Daniel, Christine (Antonio), Paul, Fiona, Liam and Niamh; his great grandchildren, Huxley and Julianna; and his brother-in-law Robert T. Carr of Panama City, FL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
