He was predeceased by: his father Richard Coughlin; his son Christopher Coughlin (Trisha); and his brother Jeremiah Coughlin. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Bush (John Jr.) and Kerri Stearns; his sisters, Caroline Santry (Tim) and Kathleen Coughlin; his grandchildren, John Bush III, Kasey Bush, Christopher Alvarado (Gaby), Allan Stearns Jr., Arthur Stearns, Christopher Coughlin Jr. and Ryan Coughlin; and his great grandchild Illiana Alvarado. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
