He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Matthews and Emma Matthews; and his siblings, Patricia Monteiro, Louis, Lawrence and Ernest Jr. Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Matthews; his daughters, Janel Souza (Kenneth), Sonya Tufts (Kelly) and Rhonda McKay (Victor); his grandchildren, Corey Tufts (Anita), Kyle Tufts, Nathan McKay and Hannah McKay; his stepgrandson Jeremy McKay; his great grandchild Kayne Tufts; his stepgreat-grandson Colton DeSilva; his sister Pearl Barrows; and his aunt Rose Nunes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home (280 Bedford St, Lakeville, MA 02347). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick's Church (82 High St, Wareham, MA 02571).
