He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Benner and Evelyn Benner (Roache); his son Brett Benner; his sister Sharon Benner; and his sister-in-law Linda Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Benner (Williams); his children, Steven Benner Jr., Thomas Benner (Tricia), Mark Benner (Amy), Erin Fitzgerald (late Luke) and Keith Benner (Hans); his grandchildren, Steven III, Jillian, Melanie, Logan, Brady, Rory and Owen; his sisters, Anne DeGrechie and Bridget Joyce; his mother-in-law Anita Griffin; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Kohlhofer (John), Donna Devlin, Janet Robinson (Daniel) and Patricia Reed (Kevin). He is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home - Lakeville (17 Main St, Lakeville, MA 02347). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Russell and Pica Funeral Home (17 Main St, Lakeville, MA 02347). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saints Martha & Mary Church (354 Bedford St, Lakeville, MA 02347). A burial will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Va National Cemetery.
