He was predeceased by: his siblings, Julia Chamberlain, Robert Donahue, Ann Hayes, Charlotte "Sissy" Parenteau, Michael Donahue and Helen Donahue.

He is survived by: his wife Ann L. Donahue (Ross); his children, Joseph E. Donahue Jr. (Tammy) of Carver, Karen Harrington (Kevin) of Bridgewater, Lisa Paiva of Fall River and Brian Donahue (Kelly) of Middleborough; and his brother Patrick Donahue. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
