He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva "Beatrice" Mathews (Brosseau) and Arcay "Arthur" Mathews of Worcester; his wife Gail Mathews (Army); and his siblings, Rita Dumas of Millbury, Thelma Brewer of Sterling and Arthur Mathews of Worcester.
He is survived by: his son Earl Jude Mathews (Melanie) of Douglas; and his grandchildren, Melissa DuBois (Paul) of Princeton, Marlena Shaffer (Rob) of Hopedale, Tyler Mathews (Katie) of Dudley, Kylie Cafferky (Dan) of South Carolina and Samuel Mathews of Douglas. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren, and many dear extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Our Lady of Assumption Parish.
