He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Martin Whelan III; and his niece Violet Ahearn. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Trilligan (Gauthier); his sister Kathleen Whelan of Orlando, FL; his siblings-in-law, Michael Gauthier (Susanna) of South Grafton and Alison Ahearn (William) of Sutton; his nieces and nephews, James Whelan (Lena) of Oviedo, FL, Martin Whelan IV (Jennifer) of Orlando, FL, Megan Leger (John) of South Grafton, Amy Gauthier of Millbury, Matthew Gauthier of Millbury and Brendan Ahearn of Sutton; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Adam Whelan, Kyle Whelan, Zachary Whelan, Olivia Whelan, Conor Whelan, Kian Whelan, Aubrey Leger and Maisie Leger.
