He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Mortell and Mildred Mortell; and his siblings, Jean Yeomans and John Mortell. He is survived by: his wife Marie Mortell (Gandolfo) of Quincy; his children, Frank J. Mortell (Lynne) of Weymouth, Edward J. Mortell (Laurel) of Marshfield and Debra L. Murrin (Kevin) of Pembroke; and his siblings, Thomas Mortell of Milton, Mary Elizabeth "Mildred" of New Orleans, Tina Roman of Wellesley, Pat Ferrara of Milton, Marie Mortell of South Boston, Steven Mortell of Florida and Robert Mortell of Plainville.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home (326 Granite Ave, Milton, MA 02186).
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice Home located in Braintree Massachusetts, operated by Old Colony Hospice.
